Foodie Friday is one of my favorite things each week! I always look forward to Friday because creating food content has been so much fun with one of my favorite Dallas photographers, Kaylynn Krieg!
This week, I’m prepping for Boo Bash, my annual Halloween party, and thinking about what I want to serve at the party- i love a good themed treat!
This post is a little less of a recipe, and more of inspo for you to think about your own Halloween treats! I trust that you can read the back of the box of rice krispie’s treats for the standard rice krispie’s recipe. The secret here is all about THE GOOGLEY EYES!! I mean, how cute are these little krispy monster babies! I linked the googley eyes and the candy melts that I used for this “recipe” but think of the possibilities- you could put googley eyes on SO many desserts and make them a Halloween hit!
OK thennn there are the spiderweb brownies. Well…what had happened was….I was trying to make these adorable brownies that had little ghosts piped on top of them. Turns outtt that the ghosts were made out of homemade marshmallow…so I figured I would give it a shot and I bought the gelatin powder and did the corn syrup and boiling the water and all the things and everything was working out just fine until it came time to pipe out the ghosts. Then things went bad. Really bad. The marshmallow started setting/cooling before I could pipe the ghosts!!!! it was such a mess. i literally cut off that section of brownies and just did spiderwebs with frosting instead. UGH so sad. But it’s ok because we had the monsters. Just wanted to share that fail with you….not all Foodie Friday attempts turn out like we hoped! Ha!
I’m so excited for Boo Bash this year! Happy *almost* Halloween, friends!
