Another week of working from home; another week of capsule collection outfits! I've been sharing my weekly wardrobe for a few weeks now, and it's both super awkward and super fun! You would think after years of plastering my face on the internet I would be used to it, but this is different! It's not a photoshoot, it's not glam...it's me sitting at my desk each day and sharing my WFH looks, which are usually different than my going out or photoshoot looks! Even though it's awkward, sharing is also helping me focus on time management, stick to a "get ready" routine, and start work by a certain time each morning.
I've mentioned this before, but one of the reasons I'm sharing these posts is because I'm a "normal" size blogger as in mid-sized! I'm 5'9" and fairly modest in my clothing style and my budget! Online, I see a lot of small sizes or curvy bloggers, and I'm in the middle, so I hope this helps some of my mid-sized friends find styles that work for them too!
Last year, I put a pause on shopping because I didn't have anywhere to go! It definitely affected my style and I started dressing a lot more casual than in the past. Since I stopped shopping, when I tried to start again this year, it all seemed overwhelming! What brands fit me, how much do I want to spend, is there anything that's not a crop top? Ha! I've slowly started getting back to classic, feminine fashion, which is what I've always loved. I've been working with Wantable for the past few months and that has helped me SO much because they assemble a box of 7 different items that they think you might like for you to try on then purchase if you want to keep them! You send everything else back, free shipping. This has been so helpful in getting me to try some new styles, some *non* skinny jeans, and even some new accessories!
I went shopping last weekend for the first time in a WHILE and I was so proud of myself for finding the cutest ruffle top and not doubting myself!
I was browsing my closet last week and pulled out a few of my old work dresses from my Nordstrom Corporate Event Marketing days. Why not dress up every now and then to sit at my desk?! TBH, I was struggling to get into work mode after all of my plans had shifted due to last week's rain, so I knew I needed to "dress for success" to get my brain to cooperate! ;) It worked! If you're in a slump, put on something that makes you feel good and professional, and get to it!
