We are mixing it up today! I'm excited to share three gin cocktail recipes with you. I'm using Empress 1908 gin because the color is INSANE! Its color comes from the butterfly pea blossom in British Columbia, where it is produced. The gin is an indigo color that results in beautiful drinks no matter what you mix with it! Each recipe is below the finished product photo below.
As with each of my Foodie Friday posts, all photos are taken by Kaylynn Krieg Photography. This series started as a collaboration between friends and has turned into one of my favorite pieces of content to create each week. I hope you enjoy all of Kaylynn's beautiful photos and my recipes below!
Up first: my favorite of the three cocktails, the Q1908, complete with an egg white! How beautiful is this cocktail?!
Q1908
- 2 oz Empress 1908 gin
- 3/4 oz lemon juice
- 3/4 oz simple syrup
- 3/4 oz egg white
- edible flowers to garnish
Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice. Shake and strain to remove ice. Shake again without the ice. Fine strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with edible flowers.
Next: an easy two-ingredient cocktail made with bubbly! Perfect for celebrating special occassions!
French 75
- 2 oz gin
- 3/4 oz lemon juice
- 1/2 oz simple syrup (I used more because I like it sweet!)
- Champagne or sparkling wine (to top)
- lemon twist garnish
Shake on ice, pour into chilled flute, top with sparkling wine and lemon twist garnish.
Last, but not least: Lemon Blueberry Gin Fizz! This is a great end of summer cocktail!
Lemon Blueberry Gin Fizz
- 2 oz gin
- 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 oz simple syrup
- 1/4 cup blueberries
- 2 lemon slices
- ginger ale
- lemon slice or twist to garnish
Muddle all ingredients except ginger ale together in a shaker. Strain (or not, up to you!) and pour over ice. Garnish with lemon and/or blueberries. Enjoy!
