Happy Galentine's! Happy Valentine's! ...and Happy Monday to all of the people who don't enjoy pink, chocolate, and hearts ;)
I'm a huge fan of Valentine's and Galentine's because it's fun to show love...and I happen to love hearts, pink, red, and cute themed treats. So it's a yes for me! This year in Dallas we had a "huge" snowstorm (aka 1 inch of snow) that forced a few activities to be rescheduled. One of them being a Galentine's celebration and the other being a friend's bridal shower. I was planning to get my Galentine's fix from those two events so when they got pushed back to later in February, I wanted to create something small at home for a few gal pals to hold me over.
I love creating at-home celebrations because you can do a lot with a little! For this setup, the main star is the balloon garland. I like to focus on one small area to showcase the theme, and not worry about the rest of the house! I didn't even buy any new flowers or a huge food spread for this setup. I focused on a few items that I enjoy and it turned out so well. I haven't really started decorating our new house yet, so the balloons added a nice touch to a wall that's been empty!
I picked up these Valentine's-themed cupcakes from Bird Bakery in Dallas, and love how sweet and simple they are. Usually I'm the only one at my events who is eating the sweets, so these minis were perfect for a small bite of sweetness.
I added some simple red heart napkins to a basic table setting and they transformed the table! Of course, you have to have message hearts for Galentine's!
One thing I invested in years ago was 2 sets of 12 champagne flutes! Yes, so I have 24 champagne flutes. I bought them when a friend got engaged and I'm surprised at how often I use them! Sometimes it's fun to kick-off a party with a toast or serve a special drink to the first 10 people to arrive to an event and toast with them, etc. If you host often, it's a purchase I would consider. I added small fluffs of cotton candy for fun, but would recommend adding them after you pour the champagne or else they "melt."
As party favors, I set out little face masks and eye patches, because who doesn't love a little self-care moment!? I grabbed these from Foxtrot Market *and* I work with them regularly, so if you haven't ever ordered from them, use code Rhonda10 for $10 off your first delivery!
Remember, it doesn't have to be fancy or big to be fun! Grab a few gal pals and host your own Galentine's or girls night soon!
