How long would you wait for a new coffee pot?
This coffee corner "zhuzh" was a long time coming! Back in January 2022, I ordered a new coffee pot. My husband and I had been using a cheapie $30 mini coffee pot for at least a year or so...and it was time for an upgrade!
I had been wanting a SMEG for a long time, but didn't really want to spend over $200 for a coffee pot. I know they're so cute, but like, really? Well, I had a Williams Sonoma gift card and after months of holding onto it, I decided that the heart wants what the heart wants, and I wanted a SMEG. So I ordered it. I was so excited.
I knew that I wanted to put some effort into making a cute coffee corner once our new SMEG arrived. So I started looking for inspo and trying to decide on my vibes for the coffee corner. I even ordered a few new frames to test out in the kitchen.
Then the *unthinkable* happened. Yes, a shipping delay! Can you even believe that?! We were delayed until February. I moved on to other projects, and we made due with Mr. Coffee for a few more weeks.
Then we got another email. Our precious SMEG was delayed another month.
Then another.
Then another.
Then another. Seriously?
We thought about canceling the order. We browsed other coffee pots.
I couldn't bring myself to cancel the order. I felt like we were so close.
Then we got another email announcing another delay. Our new arrival date was mid July now. I was no longer phased by these emails.
Then the next day our SMEG was delivered by surprise! I couldn't believe it! I all but tore ripped the box open! I was so thrilled! We set up our new SMEG coffee pot that night. The next day, I was back to work thinking about my new coffee corner. I browsed for some art and finally found a small gold frame and oil painting that fit the vibe. I rearranged the dishes and items on our floating shelves (see my larger kitchen remodel here), added my new art, styled some wooden serving boards, and called it a day.
If you follow me on IG, you know that I'm *obsessed* with our new SMEG coffee pot and our new coffee corner. I now post a photo of it daily, as compared to zero photos of this corner prior to the zhuzh.
Now I just need my SMEG fridge to zhuzh the other side of the kitchen ;)
